  12.  
  13. No capital punishment here, this is a kinder and gentler hangman. Your goal
  14. is to find all of the letters in the word before all of the apples fall out
  15. of the tree. Chose from 6, 9, or 12 apples in the tree. You have three 
  16. different word lists to chose from. The registered version comes with over
  17. 39,000 words and the ability to turn any ASCII text file into a custom 
  18. word list.

  20. The Apple Tree is shareware. That is to say, it's not free. Shareware
  21. is a means of marketing software for those of us who don't have a crack
  22. marketing department with a huge budget. 
  23.  
  24. The basic premise is that you get to try out the software before you buy it. 
  25. Once you've tried the product, and decided it is worth the cost, you send 
  26. in your registration fee and will receive the latest, greatest version of 
  27. the software. This process is known as Shareware Registration.

  29. The registration price is $19.50 plus S/H. There are three ways to register:

  31.     1) Cash, Check or Money Order
  32.         When the program first starts click on the Cash Order
  33.         button and fill out and print the order form. Mail the
  34.         order from and the amount due in the form of Cash, Check
  35.         or Money order to:

  78. 2) Installation
  79.  
  80. Aside from the ZIP file APPLE.ZIP you will need one other file to
  81. successfully install and run The Apple Tree. You will need:
  82.  
  83.     VBRUN300.DLL
  84.  
  85. VBRUN300.DLL is the run-time module needed to run all programs written in
  86. the language Visual Basic. VBRUN300.DLL can be found on all on-line 
  87. services, or you can get it off my homepage on the World Wide Web. It is 
  88. usually stored as VBRUN3.ZIP. Once you have VBRUN300.DLL uncompress it and
  89. put this file in your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.

  91. Installation couldn't be easier. Simply create a new directory and put all  
  92. the files from APPLE.ZIP into the directory. Run the program SETUP.EXE to 
  93. install The Apple Tree and to make a Program Group and Icons (Windows 3.1) 
  94. or add a Program Folder (Windows 95).
